I completed my level 1 cleanse almost 2 weeks ago. It was a huge thing to do in my life and I feel so great that I was able to do it.
Bakers Cyst almost gone:
I had a couple of chronic health issues that were bothering me before the cleanse that, in part, prompted me to do this. One was a Bakers Cyst in my left knee. That's an accumulation of fluid in the joint that makes bending the knee painful. The pain first showed up in the spring and got worse as the summer progressed to the point that, not only was I unable to do what used to be my easiest pose in Bikram Yoga--the Fixed Firm Pose, where you sit between your feet and lay back on the floor, but I was even feeling pain just sitting still and always felt really stiff getting up from a chair. A holistically oriented doctor suggested I eliminate all wheat and dairy from my diet for 6 weeks to see if that helped, since those foods are the most common allergins. I did and it began to show improvement after about a month. Then I did the cleanse and the healing accelerated even more. Now I can easily do that pose again with only minor stiffness coming out and I never experience pain in that knee during the normal course of things. I'm very excited about this.
Gas problem much improved:
The other problem I'd been having is severe gas and flatuence and pain in my abdomen after almost every meal. Since the cleanse I've had very little of this. I'm much more conscious of food combining now and that seems to make a world of difference.
Weight loss side benefit:
As a nice side benefit, I dropped about 16 pounds of unneeded weight during the pre-cleanse and formal cleanse. I've put back about 2 or 3 of those since, but I'm still very happy with my weight. I've gone down a whole clothing size and feel great about my body.
I look forward to moving on to level 2 in a few months.
