Hello Everyone,

It was fortunate/lucky for me to have found this group. I have paid attention to my health and indeed I do excercise fairly hard. Whlie they certainly help -- without that my health condition would have been much worse -- it was a bit hard to be constant. I tend to go from one extreme to the other (good <--> bad). When I am making a consicios effort, I feel I can continue myself. But when something happens, for example strong appetie or stress, they can easily break and I tend to fall into a bad diet. On top of that, I have been smoking and drinking. I am from Japan, where the cigarettes are much lighter than here in U.S. I admit I got used to a stronger ones... which is not good. I think I have found something I can stick with to regain my health.

I am a software engineer in a computer industry, and am 38 years old, single.

I know from my experience that human being actually does not eat that much, no matter how hard you work or play sports. When I was a high school student (16-18 years old in Japan), I used to play soccer. When the traninig was the hardest in the mid summer, I often did "fasting" for more than a couple of days,
sometimes for a week. I accidentally found that my body works much better if I do not eat. But I can no longer do that. I do not think it is because of the age. It is simply because my health condition has deteriorated.

Bad habits, which are always hard to get rid of, I admit, had began when I entered college. I started to live alone and eat outside. Everything tastes so well. I kept eating until I reached 200 lb, yes 200 lb. I am just 5 feet 7 inch tall. I had always felt tired at that time. Since then I tried to reduce weight. Sometime it worked, but often I regained weight. After many efforts and bitter experience, I now weigh around 125 lb, which is close to my ideal weight (120lb) -- my bone is not thick, so 120lb is fine. Still I am sure I am far from the best health condition. Sometimes I have a strong desire to eat a lot, and I often do so. And I continue to smoke. While I do not have an obvious symptom, I am sure I can be much, much, and much healthier.

The articles in the HPS web explain a lot that I agree and can understand; Bad health mostly comes from bad habits, so true, I believe. The reason of bad feeling in fasting is detoxification process where the blood tube is filled with toxin -- this explains why I feel so tired when I try fasting now. I did not at all when I was young when I probably did not have much toxin in my body. And last but not least, when the student is ready, the teacher shows up.

I intend to fundamentally re-structure my body, mind, and life throughout this program. I know I do not have a very strong will. But I sensed this might be the last chance and will be making my best effort to accomplish what I want for the rest of my life.

Warm Reagrds,
Masashi_Y

Hi Masashi,

College was what got me started with poor eating habits, too. It was just easier to grab some kind of fast food when preparing for the next days classes.

Before long I had gained a little weight. Not too much, but the bad habits were in place. Then, as I had children, I added a little more weight with each child.

I have lost 27 pounds since I began this program. I am glad about that, but I am also glad that I have developed better eating habits. I am so much more aware of the effect food and emotions, positive and negative, have on my health.

Are you an emotional eater? Cleansing helps to get rid of those negative emotions that you are carrying around. You may find on this cleanse that you get angry or really weepy. That is good because those negative things that you have been hanging on to (and probably don't even realize) are being released.

Hopefully, this cleanse will help get rid of your desire to smoke. You will learn so many good things about health. That may make it easier to want to keep on the positive path and not get back to the smoking. I have read that peppermint essential oil on the tounge, helps curb the desire to smoke. I don't know, though, since I don't smoke.

Good luck on your cleansing journey,
Tisha

Masashi,

You are so right about the teacher showing up when the student is ready!

The best way to get rid of bad habits is to replace them with good habits -- one at a time and step by step. Bad habits foster more bad habits, but the reverse is also true. With this program you will learn why things affect you, and that helps immensely with making positive changes. You will get rid of one bad habit and find that it takes care of several others. For example, cut back on drinking alcohol and you won't be as tempted by desserts. One day you will realize the tide has turned and you are moving in the right direction -- toward good health.

Welcome and good luck with your journey.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks again for the encouragements. I feel really good to hear that many positive wordings.

By the way, I think I should have received the #4 message by now. It seems to have been lost somewhere in the network probably because of the virus that is attacking many places now.

I'm really not sure if this thread is appropriate to ask this, but if any of you happen to have it, could you please kindly send it to me at mksy2003@yahoo.com.
