I just celebrated my second anniversary of cleansing with HPS at Thanksgiving, and it's time to do another one. This will be the seventh, and I plan to start on the 25th when I hope things will settle down a little more than they are now.

I started a very restricted diet about a month ago to try to eliminate or rather get candida under control. Some of the reactions I had convinced me that this is a problem I have to deal with. I am using the BED handbook as my guide (and paying lots more attention than I did back at Level 2), and I am taking Lauricidin. I am trying to pay attention to the blood type diet and learn more about the glycemic index of foods. My husband is having problems with his blood sugar, so I'm getting very good at this quickly. I got a pocket guide for both and carry them around with me.

After this cleanse, I will have a good opportunity to monitor food intolerances again. I will be on vacation for the next two weeks, so I will have the luxury of being at home in a retreat like environment this time.

I continue to do the somatic therapy that I started last June, so it will be interesting to see how this cleanse excelerates that. I'm also planning to see someone who does Body Talk and color therapy.

I hope this will give me a big step forward in the attack on candidiasis, and I'm sure it will put me in good shape for my first lymph drainage class in January.

Good luck with taking out the candida!

What has your restricted diet been mostly composed of? I've had some of the same problems although my symptoms have gotten much better.

Best wishes for cleanse!

Hi Louise,

Wishing you the very best on your upcoming cleanse.. Happy to hear you are going to have some time to ease into the cleanse. It's really the only way to go if you can swing it...

Louise, sounds good to me too... wow, time flies, two years and it seems like yesterday.

The health issues are like weather, aren't they... forever changing, never the same, always something new to explore, heal, and cure. Michelle once said, like luandry... always needs to be done. hahahah.

Looking forward to your upcoming christmas cleanse... hope i'll be starting then too,,, if not, i'm right behind you.

BTW, there is a poll for master fasters about why one cleanses... please do it at your convenience.

I'm trying to integrate more the HPS with our community and the quickest way to do that and through the polls... viewers/surfers have time to look at a poll, i'm not sure anymore they have time to read testimonials... take for example the is it worth the investment poll, it's been up at the hps homepage less than a month, but it has more half the views other polls we have here for two years... all in less than one month. Thanks.

Thanks for trusting, thanks for practicing... one can read all the books in the world, take all the medications, drugs and herbals, and do all the exercising but none of that in my opinion compares with the delight one can derive from cleansing and rejuvenation.

Being fully in control of one's health is a real delight... makes human life so much more easier. and no one can do that for us, except ourselves! :-)

Peace, love and light,

Thank you all for the good wishes.

Matthew, the plan I came up with is to eat mostly vegetables and watch the glycemic index on carbohydrates. I also have protein shakes (soy/whey protein with soy milk and green powder) and pumpkin seeds. Try to eat unsalted cultured vegetables or take probiotic capsules before meals. Not eating fruit was strange at first, but actually I do much better having a protein shake or soup for breakfast. I also take Lauricidin, and I notice that when I have anything that feeds candida (sugar, yeast, etc.), I feel unwell.

Jos-hua, I think the health issues are just like peeling an onion. You fix the obvious problems first, then you move deeper. And yes, like doing laundry, it's never done. I hope you and I will be cleansing together. That would be super. Then the retreat will come next.

Good luck to you in understanding Candida.

I think that due to the diets of wheat, refined sugar, and starch most of us have grown up on in western culture, concentrating on how much, how fast, and what types of carbohydrates are entering our bodies is a good idea.

More power to ya.

Hi louise,
So you will be doing this for almost a week and then start your cleanse??. I think you will get a great benefit shedding the candida and then going through the cleanse. Wish you good luck.

Anna, it's great to hear from you. You are often on my mind these days. I had thought I might start my cleanse tomorrow, but I am still painting my treatment room. The finish line keeps moving, so now it may be Saturday, unless I become a whirling dervish tomorrow. And I'm dealing with fatigue from a long and unsettling fall semester, so I try not to overdo it.

Lardin and Alan, from what I keep reading, the battle against candida is long. You have to do the program for three to six months. Apparently it's something that happens over a long time, and you don't get rid of it quickly and easily. If it were easy to overcome, I would have done so with all my cleansing. I'm hoping this cleanse will be a sort of jump start.

I am now re-reading and re-reading the BED book that comes with Level 1 or 2. It is chock full of good advice, so I advise everyone to pay more attention to it than I did as I went through the program.

Basically, candida is a problem with imbalance of bad bacteria in the body. So it pays to cultivate and nurture good bacteria. That's a big part of the program for controlling overgrowth of candida.

One foot after another, Louise. "The finish line keeps moving" is a line I could have written myself about personal events of the past 5-6 months. Stay determined to get to your planned cleanse and don't let life's demands sidetrack you. We can't control what life throws at us, but whatever it may be, it need be only a slight time deviation from the path we are on, not a change in path.

I am encouraged by your determination to work out your health issues. Sounds like you have developed some solid principles regarding taking charge of your own health issues - precisely what we're all here to learn to do. You are setting a high standard for us new folks. Thanks.
