Hi there :D

As you can see my name is Jennifer and I am from the Minneapolis, MN area. The reason I decided to try the colon cleansing is failed weight loss efforts. It seems everything I tried was not successful for weight loss and at the same time, I never got any more energy like I should have. It led me to believe there has to be a deeper issue - no pun intended! :p

I had read the first few chapters of another online book which suggested colon cleansing. It gave suggestions on what to take for the daily stuff and it recommended a "super cleanse" every quarter. But with that suggestion, it offered no guidelines, so I hit the web and found this site. It seemed to make sense so figured I would try it out.

Now for the personal stuff. :) I grew up an only child in a small western Wisconsin town. Three weeks after I graduated high school I left for the military. I learned Hebrew but wound up doing admin work instead due to a glitch in getting my duty station assigned. I did get to spend just over two years in Augsburg, Germany, so it was a good thing anyway. It is gorgeous there and a lot like the Minnesota and Wisconsin areas I know as far as countryside goes. :)

After I came home, I have spent my time at various jobs: retail, non-profit, private and now I am doing clerical work at a local police department with an odd schedule. I like the job and most of the people I work with but as with any other job, it has its challenges. And it keeps me in touch with what happens outside of my little sphere in the world and reminds me I'm not as bad off as I might think I am. :D

I am currently single. I did get married when I was 19 1/2 in the military. It wasn't the smartest thing I've ever done and we were divorced a year later but I have learned from it, which is what everyone should do from life experiences. I have had a couple of long term relationships since then, the last one ending about two years ago. I have been putting more energy into other things but may start looking a little more seriously again this summer for someone to share my life with.

What have I been putting my energy into? I am in the process of building an online business. I've been working with three coaches and one mentor. I'm in the process now of building my professional team here at home to help me on legal and financial issues. I'm starting with one idea right now and planning on building it into a more rounded life-building site. But, as with anything else, must go one small step at a time. :)

I have no human children but do have 2 FAT cats, one bunny and one grouchy betta (fish). No desire for any children of my own. I know some people think it's odd but I still have as yet to deal with my own life and I'm pretty certain by the time I could get everything figured out, it's going to be too late anyway. I'd rather have none than pass on problems. :)

Gosh, I really don't know what else to say but if you have any questions, please let me know. :)

Jennifer, welcome to HPS.
Well, weight loss can certainly be a benefit, but the most rewarding main thrust would be for health issues. Do you have any health issues other than just generally being overweight?

Janaka,

Yes, I am definitely looking for the health benefits. I am especially looking forward to just feeling better, having more energy and being able to get better quality sleep. Fat loss would be great though. :) I do not have any other major health problems. Thanks for asking. :)

Welcome Jennifer! I hope you come to love and take advantage of this community.

I have to side with Janaka here in that weight-loss is only a potential by product of what you are going to do. Indeed, to focus on weight loss will make a lot of what you are trying to learn more difficult. Therefore, I highly suggest that you take that goal and make it WAY LESS important that acheiving vibrant health.

One of the things you will be doing is finding what works for your body ... listening and responding. Learning about natural consequences -- i.e. if I eat this, I feel like this .. if I don't eat enough of this, I feel like this... etc.

Now if your highest priority is weight loss, you are going to step on the scale in the morning and either be disappointed or happy ( which is silly in itself -- like the scale should have an effect on how you feel!) but more importantly, it will color your decisons throughtout the day... "do I feel like eating more of this...?" "No I SHOULDN'T because I gained a little weight this week..."

Whatever you do, your life is going to improve because of the steps you are taking. Good luck and happy cleansing!

Love and light,

David

Jennifer,

Wilkommen! (A little German to bring you back to your days in Augsberg!)

We definitely have something in common with the failed weight loss attempts. Being a "newbie" myself, I'll be happy to hold your hand along the way and maybe we can both come out of this with fewer excess pounds and most definitely with a lot less "crap" in our lives!

Cheers,
~Aaron

Martin_J, David_T, Aaron_R and again to Janaka_P,

Thank you all for your words of advice and well wishes. All is appreciated! Aaron, I would be happy to be your buddy! :) I'll see you at your thread.

To touch on the weight loss issue, yes, it is important to me but it is not the primary reason for me undertaking this journey. I came to realize prior to enrolling in HPS that I needed to concentrate on my health and I think it was that realization that led me to HPS. Thank you for your comments that reinforce that decision! :)

Hi, Jennifer!

From one "newbie" to another welcome to HPS. I am just about finished with my Level 1 precleanse and ended up at HPS in a way similar to yours - it is simply a complete program with all the "how to's" laid out - not just theories talked about.

I've found in just the short time I've been here that it pushes us to grow in many areas of our functioning if we'll just pay attention to what we're thinking, feeling, and "longing for" as we go through the program. :) Of course, once we realize something about our thinking or acting, we need to decide if we want to change that or just keep on doing what we've always done. And you know the old saying: "if you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten"!

I look forward to following your posts and growth on this new journey.

Ron

Hi Jennifer--Welcome to our little community - you have chosen well!! I know that you will see results inside and out as you follow the program. It is a 4 level program and each one takes you further along the path - but the glory is that you learn so much along the way.

Remember, everyone wants to be at the top of the mountain, but it is the climb up where we learn, grow and just blossom in health and wellness. You have make a great choice and it will be a pleasure to watch you progress.

Good on ya mate, love and kindess,
Maz
