Hello New Friends!

When I stumbled upon this website when looking for a colon cleansing program, there was no turning back. For the first time in years, I feel like I have something I can hold on to and believe in. I can’t imagine anyone reading the information on the HPS website and not taking action! I am excited about what I have learned, what I will continue to learn, and sharing this experience with all of you. Your support will be critical to my success. This is very personal to me and I want to share it with those who share the same concern for developing a healthy life style.

A little about me, I am 42, single, having been married twice (no kids). I am enjoying my singlehood and have discovered so much about myself in the past ten years. I found I am an avid traveler, a community theater goddess, and a lover of wonderful friendships. Sadly, however, I think the trauma of going through two divorces left a few painful remnants. Adopting a healthy way of life from the inside out is important to me to help sweep away residual cobwebs; not only to get rid of excess weight, but to feel really good again.

I have never fasted or cleansed and because I live by myself, I have adopted some horrible eating habits. I am on the go a lot and eat a lot of junk. This year is my year to learn how to live more simply and devote more time to the care of my mental and physical health – I feel I am at a turning point where I can either save my health or be compromised and in pain for the second half of my life.

I am starting my pre-cleanse over the weekend. I appreciate any tips – especially from anyone who is starting out “cold turkey” like myself.

Looking so forward to being a part of this unique and wonderful group. Claudette – thank you for the New Year poem.

Peace and Love

Hi Sherry:

Welcome to our little family - if you like people I think you're gonna fall in love with these ones...I sure have! "I found true love online"; been thinking about using that on my testimonial, that would get a few to read it I bet!

Well, YOU have a great positive attitude about this new beginning and I believe you will be thrilled with all that you will discover, now and later!

We are here for you and with you, so keep us posted!

Glad you liked the poem, it seemed so right to me too.

Happy wishes,
Claudette ;)

Sherry,

Welcome! Its great that you are already up and onto your precleanse. I suspect you will be hooked after your first cleanse and will learn to embrace your new lifestyle. We are all here working to become cleaner and healthier. No one is perfect, and I have yet to see anyone achieve perfection. HOWEVER, we are all striving to do better continuously, and as a result are lives are improving daily. We all help each other and support each other, and we will do the same for you. I wish you the best during your cleanse!

BTW, I must say I envy your ability to travel and participate in community theater (those are 2 of my great loves also). I am a young, single-mom and well, it'll be years before I can do as you are now. Don't get me wrong, I love my life now, but I do look forward to taking a summer off where my son and I can backpack across Europe together. He is only 6 now, so maybe in a few more years he'll be ready!

see ya' on the boards! Melody

Hi Sherry,

Welcome to the group. This is definately the place to be if you are ready to make changes and get healthy. It is a process and one cleanse is not enough, but it is a great start. We are all learning here and sharing with everyone else. That is what is so cool about this group.

So if you are a novice to cleansing, just start reading and educating yourself. I'll bet you may get some strange looks on airplanes, if you pull out a colon cleansing book.

One thing I noticed is that when I started making these changes in my life, I wanted to share this information with everyone. Not everyone will want to try this, but it does make for interesting conversations.

Love,
Tisha

Sherry,

So glad to have another person join our group who is interested in rejuvenation and healthier living. Its a great program with a wealth of information. Be sure to give yourself time to read Dan's book and be sure to spend time here at the support group. You'll learn even more. Ask questions throughout the process. We're here to help.

Hello, Sherry!

Welcome to cleasing for better health. I am sure that you will see positive results.

I shall be watching for your posts.

One thing I have learned is to buy veggies such as turnip, squash, cabbage, etc. in the smallest size I can find so that cooking the whole item will result in only enough for my husband and I to finish in one meal. Sometimes, I combine two veggies for us but for you one veggie might be big enough for a whole meal.

A lot of fruit and veggies make great fast food. You need only to rinse in water and eat.

If going to the grocery store seems tempting to buy what you don't need, just practice a couple of times walking into the front door of the store which is usually where all the fresh fruits and veggies are and just shop that section and check out. I love grocery shopping now as it is so simple and I don't have to go all over the whole supermarket to shop.

Thanks, Linda!

Your advice is great! You know, it is amazing to be in my 40s and relearning how to shop and select foods wisely. I am amazed at the difficulty of just picking foods when I had acclamated myself to eating anything that presents itself to me easily. Ease of procurement was always more important than nutritional makeup. Good to know not-so-young dogs can learn new tricks!

Peace and love -

Hi Sherry,

I guess another great motivator is just to look around at all the other people at the supermarket... watch what they are putting into their carts, and look at their skin, their bodies, their eyes, their aura's, and what kind of energy they are putting out... I found while in Scotland in September that when Yvonne and I went a few times to the supermarket to buy fresh produce to juice for the fasters at the retreat, I found that I was shocked to see the people, what they looked like, the despair and bad health every where... that alone was enough to motivate anyone with common sense to forge on with this path.

Isn't it also nice to get away from the nonsence of reading nutritional facts on the food packaging... first they process the food, package it, and then they claim there is some nutrition in it... Absurd to say the least.

You are learning here what real nutrition is about, where it comes from, how certain foods energectically make you feel different, be different, are different. Enjoy your explorations. Human life is so precious and wonderful. Lets make the most out of it. It is also so fragile and short.

Wishing you all the best.

peace

Hi Sherry, Glad to see that you are taking action for your health. You didn't really stumble into this site, you were supposed to find it. I think most of us found it or were refered to it. As for starting "cold turkey" just stick with it. When I first started excersing and I would miss a few days, my friend would tell me to "just start over". I kept starting over dozens of times until I got a handle on it. At first it all seems strange, awkward and out of this world but "just start over" until you get a handle on it. Best regards, Jorge_M

Sherry,

I like your energy and willingness to 'take action'. That will serve you well here. As for being a beginner - don't sweat it. Joshua has it nailed down. Just follow what you are sent and show up here for yourself and others and it is magical. Don't attempt to cut the corners -- there really is no need for it, and it won't get you any farther along any way.

I look forward to see all the facets of the theater Goddess in action. This should provide for some rather lively reading at times I hope. Keep it fun and keep it focused and your dreams will come true.

Blessings,
Jaya_D
