Warm greetings to all!

Gyroplanes…that’s the reason I am here…because of my interest in flying gyroplanes. Sounds surprising, doesn’t it? Let me explain.

I finally acted upon my long-time fascination with rotorcraft by attending an international convention, in Indiana, last summer. After that trip, I decided to build and fly a gyro. I was soon faced with a new problem. As fate would have it, my present weight is more than the typical gyro can carry.

In my search for information to develop a weight loss plan, I recalled what Count Rugen, a character from the movie The Princess Bride, had said. “Get some rest. If you haven’t got your health, you haven’t got anything.”

The rest is history. I discovered the Helping People Survive web site and have put worldly aspirations on hold. I finally obeyed my conscience and realized…only if I have my health, will I enjoy a quality life and be able to pursue life-long ambitions!

I was born in Memphis, Tennessee, USA, in the 1950’s. I am the oldest of seven children. I lived in the Deep South until moving to San Diego, California in 1960.

I am a “Jack of all trades”, master of some. I have worked in all phases of building construction. Growing up, we built our home and what evolved to be a 66 unit motel, in downtown San Diego, complete with pool and restaurant. I lived seven blocks from the main drag on Broadway, and seven blocks from the harbor. I grew up in this large city, but my heart has always been in the countryside!

I graduated from San Diego High School in 1973. I attended the University of California in San Diego, that summer, but then decided to change my sheltered life by joining the United States Air Force. My primary job was electronics related; maintaining telephone exchanges. The Air Force, at the time, was a safe place to grow up.

My tour of duty was four years. What an adventure! During my service, I traveled to Texas, Okinawa, Iceland, Illinois, Missouri, Washington D.C., Maine, and was finally stationed in central New York State.

I moved to Bangor, Maine in 1985, in pursuit of a job and enjoyed my three year visit very much! It was in Maine that I learned, through friends, the Transcendental Meditation relaxation technique.

I’ve since returned to college, have worked as a handyman, installed telephone business systems, and have performed consumer electronics repair. I worked at Cornell University, for four years, with computers and computer network infrastructure.

I presently live in the Finger Lakes Region of Central New York amongst 90+ wineries! I find the balance of open fields and deciduous trees in this area very attractive! As you can imagine, the vineyards are very picturesque; the lake views calming.

I currently work at a small, private college providing Classroom Technology Support. I help provide assistance to faculty in 200 classrooms with computers, and various audio/video devices, from 7:30 AM until 9:35 PM. We also provide electronic repair and video conferencing services.

I have fifteen wonderful students, from all over the world, that work with me to accomplish this monumental task. I work with students whose home is India, Bangladesh, Romania, Bulgaria, Cypress, Mauritius, Myanmar, and Brazil. What a treat! Working with students is the most rewarding facet of my job!

In spite of my demanding job, I am a happy-go-lucky person. You will most likely hear me, before you see me, because I am usually singing, humming or whistling my way through the day.

If I ever realized I would have to live on a uninhabited island the rest of my life, and fooled into thinking I could bring only one type of music, the romantic in me would choose Old School Rythym and Blues. I do enjoy almost all forms of music, although I listen contemporary jazz, new age, classic rock, and latin music on a regular basis.

I love to travel! I am not a world explorer by any means, although I have been fortunate to visit Mexico, Canada, Iceland, Okinawa, and Guam. I almost made it to Brunei, in 1994, to help construct a stadium for the Sultan. I have also visited, all but five, of these fifty United States. In fact, I have 7,500 driving miles in Alaska; thus far my favorite wilderness location on this deep blue planet!

Despite my “lofty” pursuits, I am an earthy guy and live in the physical world. I have enjoyed hiking in the wilderness, rock and ice climbing, kayaking, canoeing, camping, caving, and cycling. I also enjoy electronics, computers, and RC modeling. I love anything mechanical, whether I’m working on my vehicle, lawn mower, snow blower, or someone else’s.

I met the love of my life, as a friend, nine years ago; we began seeing each other three years ago. Her name is Laurie. She is the first woman I’ve met that I look forward to growing old with. She is a true sweetheart, and doesn’t "just act like one" every once in a while. We share the same interests, life-long aspirations and often the very same thoughts! Laurie has a son named Scott, who is attending college and working towards a Sports Medicine degree. He is a "fine young man".

I’ve been blessed with a strong constitution. Except for a broken arm, a hernia operation and a herniated disk in my spine, I have been practically doctor-free.

In recent months, however, I have had the following symptoms: constipation, chronic joint pain, dry skin, a scalp rash, high blood pressure, blood circulation problems in my legs and impotency. I recently discovered, through the loving guidance of Fereydoon Batmanghelidj, M.D., that these are symptoms of my body's many cries for water. By drinking nothing more than pure water (half my body weight in ounces per day), with the addition of unprocessed sea salt, ALL of the above symptoms have completely disappeared within three months! The only change made to my diet was to practice not drinking coffee and soda.

Lesson learned: Pure water, balanced with the right amount of unprocessed sea salt, has marvelous healing properties and should never be taken for granted!

Speaking of diets…I have eaten the Standard American Diet most of my life. Yes. I have gone through different phases of creating health by meditating, and have lived the Macrobiotic lifestyle for a couple of years, in an effort to ward of any impending health issues. I then fell back to the SAD and am paying the price.

I have salt and water fasted, for six days at a time, and found it refreshing! I have strong will power and found the experience curiously easy. I enjoyed the focus of body and mind.

People say that I’m a generous person. I live to serve others! I believed that I had bestowed many fine gifts in my lifetime. That is, until I found the Helping People Survive program. After reading the online cleansing guide, I realized that I have never really given any gifts of value. I have come to realize the only true gift, is that of helping others to regain and maintain their health and well being. I now know the gifts of health, which Jos-hua offers with loving guidance, are priceless! I knocked on his door, looking for weight loss, and he welcomed me into the world of all encompassing health!

I look forward to much better health, connecting with my body, growing as a person, and helping others that are walking this same path. I am also very excited about meeting new, health conscious friends from across this planet! Hopefully, by sharing a brief description of my life thus far, we have connected in some small way.

I wish you all…love, abundant health, and happiness!

Your new cleansing friend,

William

Hi William,

Welcome, and Wow! what an introduction. You're very open and honest, and I am happy for you that many parts of your life are so right. I hope you find here the missing keys to bring on life's second half with much health and happiness.

I, too, have a mechanical background, with some electronics, although I haven't travelled nearly as much as you. I think you will find many of the energetic concepts talked about here very interesting.

Interesting to learn about the salt and water therapy. Will look forward to your posts. Enjoy this time!

Hi William,

Great intro... you really sound like you have an attitude that will lend itself to success here at HPS. Interesting how you found us - we all come here for different reasons, but come to find so many commonalities...
Bangor? I grew up in Ellsworth!
You've found a great community here William. Enjoy your new path to health :)

Hello Marty,

Thank you for the thoughtful reply. I look forward to being an active participant in this forum.

Many parts if my life "are so right". I am fortunate man.

Yes, water and salt therapy has opened my eyes to the simplicity of creating health. Health should be a simple affair, as long as we treat our bodies as they were purposed. Once we mistreat our bodies, the pathway back to health is not as simple.

Thank you for the good wishes!

William

Hello Kevin,

Thank you for the warm welcome!

Ellworth is a fine town! Quite a difference from Naples, I'll bet! I vacationed in Maine last summer and could not believe how much the Bangor and surrounding areas have grown! I lived in Brewer during my first year in Maine; I then moved to Hampden. Based out of Bangor, I travelled from Millinocket to Jonesboro, installing telephone business systems, and enjoyed every moment! I have many fond memories of living in Maine.

Yes, I suspect there are many interesting stories of how people cross the path we now share. I was happy to share mine.

Thanks again! I feel fortunate to be part of this community.

Hi William,

After reading your introduction I feel as though I already know you and I am glad that we can share this together. It seems that you truly do have a lot of discipline having fasted already.

It is really true that having your health is everything. Like you I would also like to lose some weight, but for me that would just be a bonus.

Your travels through life sound very exciting, and your love of life is obvious by reading your introduction.

Talk to you soon,
Diana

Hello again Diana!

Thanks for the reply!
After reading your introduction I feel as though I already know you Then my introduction has served it purpose!
and I am glad that we can share this together.
I don't have a definite start date, as I am fine tuning my schedule, but it will be nice to share this experience with you.
It seems that you truly do have a lot of discipline having fasted already. Fasting comes easy to me, primarily because I sort of practice it every day. I usually eat only one meal in the evening. Not good for the digestive fires, I know, but like this program, is it a practice that has become habit. So certainly this helps me in my quest to fast for longer periods.

Don't get me wrong, I remain very much attached to food, just not all day long. That being said, it really is an issue of mind over matter.
It is really true that having your health is everything. It really becomes the basis for all other pursuits.
Like you I would also like to lose some weight, but for me that would just be a bonus. I am now on a quest to be overwhelmingly healthy and I know that weight loss will be a part of this process.
Your travels through life sound very exciting,
For the most part, I have lead an exciting life!
and your love of life is obvious by reading your introduction.I'm happy it shows! I have always wanted to make sure, at the end of my life, that I have "lived enough!"

Thanks again! I look forward to sharing our cleansing experiences.

Welcome to HPS William!

I just finished my Level 1 formal last week so I'm not very far ahead of you on the path to abundant health.

...have put worldly aspirations on hold. I finally obeyed my conscience and realized…only if I have my health, will I enjoy a quality life and be able to pursue life-long ambitions! This realization is also what brought me to HPS at this point in my life's journey. I realized that if I wanted to have a fully energized "second half" of life, then I would need to get my physical body in top shape to achieve that. I didn't fully realize how complete HPS was in terms of total health until launching out and getting into the materials for Level 1. This program will help you reach whatever health goals you have set for yourself. It is very simply a way of living that creates health - just the natural result of actions taken!

Lesson learned: Pure water, balanced with the right amount of unprocessed sea salt, has marvelous healing properties and should never be taken for granted! How about sharing your salt/water formula early on so the rest of us can begin to benefit from it?? My wife and I have also increased our water consumption this past year but have become more inconsistent with it lately so your reminder is most welcome!

After reading the online cleansing guide, I realized that I have never really given any gifts of value. I have come to realize the only true gift, is that of helping others to regain and maintain their health and well being. You will have ample opportunity to do just that by participating in the forums and sharing your knowledge gained on your life's path to date.

I look forward to much better health, connecting with my body, growing as a person, and helping others that are walking this same path. Couldn't say it any better as to what happens here at HPS!

Glad you are here and look forward to walking together on this deep blue planet!

Hello Ron,

Thank you for the warm welcome!

I just finished my Level 1 formal last week so I'm not very far ahead of you on the path to abundant health. Congratulations! Is that you, there on the path ahead?! Wave your hand so I can pick you out of the crowd! Ha! Ha! Ha!

This realization is also what brought me to HPS at this point in my life's journey. I realized that if I wanted to have a fully energized "second half" of life, then I would need to get my physical body in top shape to achieve that. Until I found Jos-hua’s program, I did not know such comprehensive guidance existed online! There are a lot of well intentioned people willing to help us, but they only have part of the whole health picture. We have a lot more to look forward to here at HPS! Don't we?!

I didn't fully realize how complete HPS was in terms of total health until launching out and getting into the materials for Level 1. This program will help you reach whatever health goals you have set for yourself. It is very simply a way of living that creates health - just the natural result of actions taken! It took me by surprise as well! Even though I haven't started my first level of cleansing, I could see the extended benefits just by reading the set up manual. Josh-hua and his practitioners are wonderful examples!

How about sharing your salt/water formula early on so the rest of us can begin to benefit from it?? My wife and I have also increased our water consumption this past year but have become more inconsistent with it lately so your reminder is most welcome! I did not want my introduction to be an advertisement for another therapy. I had hoped, if one was interested, they would do a web search using the doctor’s name I listed. I am happy to share this information, but I am not sure it is appropriate to create this diversion. I do not want to hijack any threads or circumvent the efforts made here. I have emailed you some information, as I am willing to do for anyone interested. I hope that will suffice.

You will have ample opportunity to do just that by participating in the forums and sharing your knowledge gained on your life's path to date. You set a great example. I look forward to being helpful.

Glad you are here and look forward to walking together on this deep blue planet! I hope I can still see you on the path ahead, once you start running! Ha! Ha! Ha!

I appreciate your heart felt reply!

Welcome William,

I loved reading your introduction. Sounds like you have lived a very exciting and fulfilling life.

You're gonna love this program once you get started down the path. Jos-hua has fine tuned it for all comers, and I know you will enjoy the simplicity of the cleanse and also the enjoyment of taking a week off for an online cyber fast in the comfort of your own home.

Many benefits to come, many friends to meet and the joy of reclaiming your birthright of continuous vibrant and sustainable health....

Look forward to joining you on your journey......

Greetings Stephen!

I'm glad you enjoyed my introduction. As you have read, I have received some warm and sincere responses! I've have some new HPS on-line friends already and now count you among them!

My job is fast paced and fairly demanding. I can use a week off! When fasting in the past (self prescribed), I did not change my daily routine, yet still had plenty of energy six days later. My job requires my presence when classes are in session, but Spring break is coming up in early March. That is when I plan to embark on my cleansing journey.

and the joy of reclaiming your birthright of continuous vibrant and sustainable health.... A beautiful truth! Thank you for sharing it!

Thank you for the reassuring comments and sharing in my journey! It means a lot, especially coming from a Level IV participant. I look forward to the day I can reciprocate.

William

Hello William,

You're off to a great start! You definelty sound like your heart and mind are in the right spots to really excel here!

One thing you said that caught my attention was "Health should be a simple affair."

I've never really thought about health in that way, but it makes perfect sense. Simple foods, simple lives are what was given to us and we have just complicated everything! Thanks for the insight!

Best Wishes,
Michael

Hello Michael,

One thing you said that caught my attention was "Health should be a simple affair." I'm glad I piqued your interest.

It never made sense to me that we should need expensive medical care to live a healthy life.

Case in point: Salt and water. Important, yet simple requirements for health, provided for free, by nature. This deep blue planet is covered with salt and water. Our bodies depend on salt and water to maintain our inner ocean. If you check into a hospital, the first thing health care professionals will give you is saline solution. Throughout history, salt and water have been so important that wars were fought...over the two most abundant resources on this planet. Seems pretty important to me, too!

It also makes sense to me that the road to restoring our health should be simple. It should take more effort, yes, yet it should be within our complete control. I am here simply because HPS practices resonate with my beliefs.

Thanks for the reply! It's nice to receive encouraging words!

Hello William,

Quite the intro you've got here. :) I'm sure you will be able to teach us some things as you get into the cleansing. I look forward to being a part of your support system when you finally are able to begin. I was interested in reading about the salt/water thing. Sounds a bit like Dasani...but anyway, I digress. I recently purchased some food for my cats to get them also on a more natural diet and one of the items I ordered was a water supplement that can be used all around. They call it a " mineral-enhanced alkaline-ionized purified water catalyst." Isn't that a mouthful? I'm going to try it for myself as well once I'm into the post cleanse just for grins. If that fails, I may have to request your recipe! :) Hope to see you on the pre-cleanse soon. :)

I am more than willing to discuss my experiences!

Happy to be of service!

Thank you for the compliments! I do look forward to contributing any way that I can!

I love animals and cats are a fav of mine. They need a chance to be healthy too!

Thanks for the offer of support! You are too kind!

I've posted a salt and water therapy thread on the Resource board for HPS cleansers. Perhaps people will find the information more readily there.

I subscribe to Netwonder on the 12th and start my Formal cleansing March 5th. I am looking forward to this program!

Thank you for the good wishes and support!

such apleasure reading your introduction so confident and funny. Feel kind of self conscious still when it comes to writing anything about myself but I guess that is all going to change pretty rapidly over the next month as lets face it I am going to be telling you all more intimate details about myself than I would even write in a personal diary let alone tell my partner or mother. :o Looking forward to progressing through this with you :D

Hi Nancy!

Thanks for stopping and sharing your reactions to my introduction. I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed it!

I do feel at home here and want to share with others. You are accurate about the intimate details...we just have to see how that goes. Each time I read someone's post, I try to think of how I might reword this or that, yet say the same thing. We will see. I promise to make an effort to take it easy on the senses of my cleansing partners!

I look forward to sharing and watching in wonderment!

Hi William,

Your post is absolutely wonderful. I am VERY intrigued with your interest in water fasting. So tell me, how do you think this will work out with your colonic fast? Have you figured that out yet?

I sense in your writing that you have a beautiful sense of generisity and sobriety that is very refreshing. It is very inspiring. I look forward to following you in you cleanse. This would be neat.

One more thing... how are you able to separate out individual quotes when you respond to others? I really like that and it would be really helpful when reply to others. I would like to be as detailed and specific as you.

It was just a pleasure reading your post and I look forward to communicating with you during your cleanse.

Peace and love,

Courtney

Hello Courtney,

Your post is absolutely wonderful. Thanks! I'm happy you enjoyed it!

I am VERY intrigued with your interest in water fasting. So tell me, how do you think this will work out with your colonic fast? Have you figured that out yet?I'm not quite sure what you mean. If you mean water and salt therapy, it fits right in. It isn't therapy really, just the eight glasses of water that you were taught to drink when you were growing up.

If you actually mean fasting, it will fit right in as well. You still need to drink water to maintain hydration.

Colonics will hydrate your body through osmosis. The same process used in peritoneal dialysis. In fact, it is a great way to hydrate your body. You will not need to drink as much water when you irrigate your colon. I hope this answers your question.

I sense in your writing that you have a beautiful sense of generisity and sobriety that is very refreshing. It is very inspiring. I look forward to following you in you cleanse. This would be neat.Thank you, again, for the compliments. You are too kind! I look forward to sharing my cleanse...the more the merrier!

One more thing... how are you able to separate out individual quotes when you respond to others? I really like that and it would be really helpful when reply to others. I would like to be as detailed and specific as you.It is simple html script, and is a bit of work, but here is the process...Press the quote reply button inside the frame of the message you are replying to. When the next window pops up, you will see the text of the message with a header at the beginning of the message. You will also see a footer at the end of the message. Any text between the header and the footer will be highlighted in a box like you are looking for. Anything that is typed outside the header and foot will apppear as your reply.

Now comes the work I told you about...You will need to copy and paste each header and footer for each portion of the message you wish to reply to. Each paragraph you wish to segment from the original message will need its own header and footer. Then you simply type your reply outside the segment and *voila* you have this format.

You can press the preview post button to see what you have created without actually sending the message. If you still need to make corrections, just scan down to the text window again, make your corrections and preview it again until you get the results you are looking for. Press the submit reply button when you are finished. After you have submitted your post, you can always click on the edit button within your reply if you've missed something. Experiment a bit and you'll catch on. I hope this helps!

It was just a pleasure reading your post and I look forward to communicating with you during your cleanse.Thank you! You are too kind!

Your cleansing friend,

William
