Hi everyone!

I first got interested nutrition when I was 21 and thought if I ate better I could stop my hair from falling out(did'nt work). But I've always been thin so I started working out and began experimenting with protien powders and supplements.

Part of that was eating alot of food: a lb. of meat a day, half a gallon of milk, 3-4 peanut butter sands, etc. The typical "bodybuilding diet". It's hard not to follow the advise in the magazines when you think you're desperate to gain weight. When young you can eat just about anything and get away with it.

Over the years my focus had shifted to try and eat as clean as possible by eating everything organic, but still alot of it. In 1994 I got myself up to a very lean 200lbs, and felt great. I did'nt stay there because I had to eat 7000 calories a day to stay there. Not easy to do.

For the last 3 or 4 years I've had occasional problems with constipation, especially the last year. I can go for 5 days without a bm, which has bothered me since I still eat "clean". It's just in the last several months that I've been reading about food combining, and realizing you can eat the best foods, but if not combined properly, you're no better off.

This last year I went to school and became a personal trainer. Every book on nutrition says nothing about proper eating, (combining). Then coming across this website and seeing the pictures and reading everything it really sunk home what I need to do for myself. Not to mention everyone else.

The last straw for me came several weeks ago when I got a cold(and I never get a cold!). I was constipated and mucus boy and saw the connection. I went to google and found this info. I believe I was lead here, that you live your whole life to get to this point that can change your life. I am not nervous but exited to do this.

I want to be a walking testimonial that this works and to share it with others.

If this seems like a long intro, it was harder on me. I'm not the fastest or best typer, it took me an hour and a half to get through this!

Thanks for your kindness and support.
All is well! Confidence is high!

Mark;

This is the place for you. You will be supported in your search to clean out and add balance to your diet. Food combining may have been some of the reason for little weight gain, or also the state of your colon. Many of the highly processed protein powders can really create a paste on the walls of the GI tract, creating malabsorbtion. I to was very slow to gain weight growing up, and as a farm kid the opportunity to eat heavy was always available to me. Quite a morass I threw into my system for may years. I remember going to school in a stupor after a typical breakfast of toast, bacon, eggs, juice, grapefuit, cereal(with sugar of course), and the mandatory half gallon of milk(homogenized & pasturized). I felt pretty stupid sometimes sitting in a classroom catatonic. Man!, did I think I was a low IQ character.... Only later did I realize my system was just in shock. Still little weight gain happened. I believe now I then was allergic to wheat, dairy, sugar, etc..., at a very early age from baby formula, and it all only confused my system.

You might find that after a year or so working with this, that your priorities may change about what is ideal to you. Being who you are will shine thru - I do believe that.

So Blessings to you Friend. May the journey be a fruitful one for you.

Grace,
Jaya_D

Mark,

Welcome to the best place to find the support you need at this point in your life. This is a very nurturing environment and one of the key components to success. You, of course, are the other. Sounds like your background gave you the knowledge of how the body works from a structural and musculature standpoint but now you can learn even more. Looking forward to following your adventure.

Hi Mark!

You are in for an exciting adventure! Glad you decided to join us on our travels. The "Fit for Life" book really nailed me a few years back regarding combining & milk, but I figured humans must have mutated to accomodate--then I began to see more of the results in myself and others....it is amazing how absent it is from "health & fitness" guides.

People will be very curious about what's up with you!

BTW, I graduated from "Creek"; still love Steamboat! Small World!

Best wishes, Claudette

Welcome Mark!

I'm sure it will be very interesting to you to add to the knowledge that you already have. I am very curious to witness the changes you will experience following this path versus what you have been taught in the past. I look forward to following your progress.

Weclome Mark.

Maybe when your bowels are clean and you are combining properly, you will find that your body needs far less food.

Good luck, we will be here for you.

Thanks to everyone who responded to and read my intro. This is all much more than I ever thought it would be; most reassuring!
Though I have'nt started my formal pre-cleansing yet, the last two weeks I've cut way back on protein and way up on veggies. Plus, no dairy or eggs(less stuffy nose), and a bm per day (life's simple pleasures..). Amazing how you can take such things for granted.
Real progress won't be made till the 7 dayer, can't wait!
Thanks for caring! Mark
