Hi cleansing friends,

I have felt like doing level 4 actually for a couple of months now, but May and September/October are the months when I have the time and mental space to cleanse. The last 3 days of level 3 I had only water and felt great. So I am looking forward to this adventure. Will do a real water only fast.

Regarding habits and diet:
Becoming more and more vegetarian. Go through long periods of mostly raw food and then I will crave a bit of tofu & cooked veggies, too. Juicing off and on. Gave up coffee with my level 1 cleanse and haven’t felt the need to go back to that habit. Drinking a bit of Green tea now because I am importing a brand into the Caribbean from Thailand. I drink mostly the plain unsweetened variety, but can’t drink more than 2 a day or the caffeine keeps me up at night. Caffeine never used to affect me like that before I started cleansing, funny. Still sporadic in meditation and breathing. I want to work on that in level 4. Still horseback riding at least twice a week though. I do concentrate on breathing when I ride. It helps me be at one with the horse. I get sunshine, sea air and exercise all at the same time.

This cleanse is supposed to be about emotions and very appropriate for me at this moment. Generally my life is stable, successful and going well. Yet I find myself in periods of happiness followed by periods of discontent for no apparent reason. It is not the outside circumstances (that I used to blame) but the internal, mental and emotional stuff that is affecting me. So I gladly welcome this opportunity to take issue with my emotional cleansing. Also I know how I simply glow after a cleanse and have been looking a bit dull after a long tourist season and a bit too much daily alcohol consumption. Re: mental and emotional stuff…it is evident that when I am meditating, I am more relaxed and joyful. Another good reason to be more regular.

And last but not least, sent off a check for $9000.00 to help the Tsunami/Earthquake victims in Asia. The money was raised at a benefit concert at my restaurant with the help of the local artistic and music community. I a bit tired from the efforts, but feel good inside.

Will start pre-cleanse shortly and plan on doing the formal during the first 2 weeks of May. Look forward to the new books too. Wish me luck !

Elisa,

So good that we have the cleanse structure to pull us back to the path of health, isn't it? I can relate to your need to work on emotions. That's one I'm just getting exposed to as I start my L2 work. Simply amazing how everything ties together and is integrated. Will be watching for your L4 posts and wish you a good "get back on track" cleanse.

Ah Elisa,

I am so happy to see you here, beginning the Master Faster path.

In my mind, I find it hard to imagine someone who has done 4 cleanses and then never another cleanse again in their life. By the end of level 4 so much wonderful change has taken place in ones life (after all is already 1 to 2 years practicing this path) that change inevitably takes place again and again without fear. And everyone knows, cleansing brings about changes.

It's just a question of how long their their level 4 post-cleansing lasts.

For some, not all that long, they quickly want to jump into a master faster cleanse, for others, months and sometimes, due to circumstances, even years... but sooner or later things come together for them to cleanse again. In your case, with your great lifestyle by the beach and being your own boss, I guess in won't be long before we change the title from 7DW Level 4 to Master Faster.

Your generosity is so wonderful, so kind indeed.... 9,000 US$ donation is very big, and can help hundreds if not thousands of people. It just depends on how and for what it is spent. I rejoice in your generosity and all those who joined in with you.

Maybe this trip of yours to Thailand we will meet up. My schedule isn't fixed yet. I just got back from Israel and soon, in a few days I will go to Malaysia. Rinpoche is there now and asked that I come for a retreat there. He will be teaching a Dochzen text. So I will go there and then probably back to Nepal with him at the beginning of May. If I don't go back with him to Nepal at the beginning of May, I will go at the end and stay in Chiang Mai until then.

You mentioned in your intro that you want to work on the breathing and meditation in level 4. The best you can do is start the wheel turning... but truth is, they are not level specific, nor formal cleansing issues... they are pre and post cleansing activities, and therefore doing just a little is a good way to keep the wheel turning. If we do too much we overload, and then stop. Consistent moderate effort is what is needed to sustain the practice.

So, I wish you good luck and happy practices in developing that quality- consistent moderate effort. I too had to learn it... I naturally was good at big swings, but consistent attention, concentration, devotion and effort wasn't my strong point. Practice, be it health or spiritual practice, over time naturally enhances our capacity for more mindfulness and attention, concentration, devotion and effort. I wish you all the best.

Forge on cleansing friend, it's amazing how fast the time has passed since you started your first cleanse. Really amazing.

Peace, love and light,

Hi Michael,

Yeh I wish I had been riding this week, but the horses all needed to be shoed ! We had a blacksmith crisis !
It is an activity that I really miss. Once you start to do something on a regular basis that brings so much physical and mental reward it becomes an important part of life. Luckily the problem will be solved today and I will be "back in the saddle again" . hehehe

What this taught me this week, is that I moved past the dissapointment and used the time I usually spend riding to accomplish other sort of important things I had been putting off. So I had a sense of accomplishment and reward for the sacrifice. Sort of like cleansing ya know.

Peace, Love & Light,

Elisa,

All the best on upcoming Level 4 cleanse. I can relate to Josh-ua's consistent, moderate effort motto I try to do 1 stretch exercise once a week rather than none. Well done on the massive generosity raised for the people affected by the tsunami.
