Hi y'all!!

It's been a year now since my Level 1. Looking back, on average I actually experienced a slight decline in health after that first cleanse, but Level 2 seemed to get things going again. I have very vivid memories of feeling this tremendous sense of body heat during the last few days of Level 2 -- which was WONDERFUL because after my own water fast and Lvl1 I had very serious problems with body heat. I'm a pretty trim guy with a fast metabolism, so a lot of activity combined with few/no calories made me lose weight *extremely* quickly. I started looking like a heroin addict.

There's three big issues I'm looking forward to seeing improvement on.
1) Venous issues. I still have a (much-slowed) problem with developing spider veins and the like.
2) Constipation. I eat a fiber-heavy diet, but even with that sometimes nothing happens for days.
3) Sex drive. When I'm really healthy it's on in force but too often it just diappears. And so does a lot of motivation.

This is something of a transitional period for me, even outside of HPS. A few weeks back I stopped working with the company I've been at for the past year and a half. At this point I'm waiting for a few final offers from other companies but at the same time not being caught up in "career" has given me some perspective. All of a sudden I feel much more like an adult, and I'm realizing that I have only a limited amount of time to do what I want to do, it could be decades, years, even days (heaven forbid). Not so much that "I want to go scuba diving, I want to travel to the Mediterranean" kind of goals, more like thinking about the person I want to be, the lifestyle I want to live, day to day.

I've learned a lot about the "causes and conditions" for myself through HPS and reading and experimentation. I find I do best going to bed early and getting up very early. (Now that career is temporarily not an issue, I commute up to Maryland to play Ultimate Frisbee at 6 in the morning -- not good for my car but I love it.) I've developed a habit of not eating solid food after 7PM -- that way I can go to bed between 9-10 and have my dinner meal fully digested. On the food front, I've started making my own butter, and I've become a big fan of coleslaw -- shredded raw cabbage with olive oil and a bit of apple cider vinegar. Cabbage keeps well so I find this is something I eat every day, sometimes multiple times.

I'm really looking forward to this cleanse, even if it is intimidating. I think the long pre-cleanse and experience from the last two will make this more "productive" than either of the ones before.

Matthew, welcome to moving into Level 3!

The constipation issue is curious. I’ll be interested to see how that improves for you.

Congratulations on the schedule you are keeping - that’s got to be an invigorating way to start your day! :)

Wow, so glad I stopped by your L3 intro thread, Matthew! Some really direct "hits" for my life activity in your comments. Although I'm ahead of you by about 30 years on the road of life, I'm feeling a similar "refocusing" process going on. It seems that for my life it has come around in cycles much like the seasons of the year. Each time it arrives, of course, I have more experience in "the bank" to use to evaluate the question after having learned from the last time I made choices on this issue. I encourage you to choose wisely and be bold. Do not settle for what might seem safe or "logical" to others in particular. Take charge of your life. If you don't like something that has taken root, change it! You're not a tree! :) (credit to Jim Rohn, by the way)

I've learned a lot about the "causes and conditions" for myself through HPS and reading and experimentation. I find I do best going to bed early and getting up very early....I've developed a habit of not eating solid food after 7PM -- that way I can go to bed between 9-10 and have my dinner meal fully digested....I've become a big fan of coleslaw -- shredded raw cabbage with olive oil and a bit of apple cider vinegar. I was really challenged by your choices re: food in the pm. I needed that input and challenge to get my attention. I'm going to try your raw cabbage dish as well. I love cabbage and use olive oil and ACV on my mixed salads exclusively. Love that stuff!! Shredded cabbage would be fast, easy, and great for the digestive process. Thanks so much for sharing this detail about your dietary experience - and so glad I stopped by to read your intro. This was really good stuff!!!!

Will be following your L3 activity with interest. So good that you are taking charge at age 23. It will enable you to experience so much more on the journey of life.

Your cleansing friend,

Ron

Hi Matthew,

I was interested by your mention of coleslaw too. From the earliest age I've always been revolted by the dish, but when you list the ingredients you use in preparing it, I realize that what I hated about it wasn't the cabbage, it was other stuff like pseudo-mayonnaise and sugary sickly sweet stuff that turns my stomach when I think about it. Cabbage is a fine vegetable, raw or cooked, and I'm going to give it another shot.

So thanks for that.

Rick

hey matthew,

looks like you are set up to go and get at those things hanging on in your body and mind......

i'm at an age similar to yours and it just isn't too early to start thinking about all of that stuff about where you want to be now and how you want to live later and developing an "old timer" lifestyle while your friends are still partying yet worrying a lot about careers, marriage etc.....first things first eh....

Hi Matthew,

Nice to see you moving forward into lvl 3. You've been through a lot of health matters over the past year and shared much of what you have found with all of us. This next step should be the best yet. All my best!

Ok Matthew, great to read you here as you move into your lev 3 advanced cleansing,,,, this is where we make a dramatic turn in your health.

This lev 3 will awaken you to tremendous changes, more than most people experience. As you know i am speaking here of the full course- pre, formal and postcleansing.

I expect to see in your lev 3 testimonial a kind of title- "Reborn"

Lets see... no expectations, it's just my intuition.

Follow everything to the T. Don't skip anything... make more effort than you usually make and also review all your lev 2 books, and your posts.

I look forward to seeing what happens.

Peace, wishing you all the best!!!
You deserve it.

Peace,

Hi Matthew,

Great to see you taking the next step on your health journey. Good words of wisdom by all here... Yes, the L3 will be a big next step toward your health goals - for sure.
I agree with Jos-hua - definitely take advantage of the FULL L3 program - it will really help you to gain some serious ground. Yes, it's a bit more time and effort, but the rewards are hugh.
Good luck Matthew and have fun :)

Wow. There's a lot of great feedback here, and of course I'm always pleased when I see that one of my habits or discoveries or whatnot reverberates with someone else. That's one of the great effects of this board -- one little comment or idea can spark change in someone else if the timing is right.

Jos-hua, I feel that way as well. Some feeling is making me hesitate almost, to not take this too seriously because of what might happen if I do. It's so strange to sit back and objectively notice that I am creatively avoiding the change I want. Must be a "comfort zone" thing.

But enough chit-chatter, I just wanted to say thanks for the great replies and let's see what happens. :)

Creatively resisting the change you want to happen - yes thats where I've been!

thanks for the articulation.
