Hello Group,

Here is my history ... well part of it anyway ... it's kind of wordy but Josh-hua said detailed and on occasion I can/will follow instructions. :)

I am recently retired and now have the time to really focus on what I want health wise for the rest of my life. All of my life I have been interested in health and have tried most of the procedures presented in either books or of late on the Internet. Of course all of this study and trying gives one a certain sense of what works or does not for yourself. Those that work one keeps (I have) and moves on with an eye open to improve.

Even tho I am now 64 my memory is still good enough to remember how I felt at say 35 (which I consider my physical prime) ... with years and menopause that prime has slowly declined. The world and my doctor included say "oh its old age it happens to everyone".

Sorry but my spiritual self knows different ... so I am ever on a quest to re achieve that excellence of physical health.

Somehow I ended up here (clearly the synchronicity of life) ... the program makes sense to me so I am starting. I am a true believer that there is no better money spent than on your own health. So shortly I will see how well this process works for me.

I am a workaholic (probably class A) ... there is ever some new and exciting venture upon which to embark ... I am always reaching for that next brass ring ... resisting the urge to snatch up 2 or 3 with each pass. Somewhere along the way I learned it is better to focus on one and if the rest are true opportunity they will come round again.

My doctor and I are ever at odds because there is always some new aid (pharmaceutical) to help us age gracefully ... it frustrates him because I refuse. For instance my cholesterol went from 156 to 175 and he had some medication that would do the trick (I refused) ... I used a healthy alternative and in a month it was back to normal ... he learned ... what I already knew.

My blood pressure is higher than he would like ... that bothers him ... I am not sure "my normal" should be adjusted ... I do however take that medication because I feel better when I do ... he advises I must take it the rest of my life ... I do not buy that and hope this program will correct that situation.

I only sleep perhaps 4 or 5 hours a night (not because I can't ... but because there is always some exciting thing to learn or do) ... I go to bed and sleep until I wake up then start my new day. I love the night while the rest of my world is asleep. My schedule is my own doing and I dance to my own tune.

My diet is fairly healthy ... I avoid sugar and white flower ... I have been mindful of food combining for many years ... it works for me.
I do love chocolate however and periodically will sit down to several pieces of homemade fudge ... I figure blow it all at once ... eat enough to get over it then move on ... that usually works without upsetting things much.

I do not exercise ... though for years I lifted free weights and that plus not totally putting garbage in my body has kept me relatively healthy and in good shape. Adding more exercise now is probably a good idea. I will probably start lifting weights again because my physical strength is not what it use to be.

So why am I here?
There is always room for improvement.
I have a chronic sciatic nerve pain that the doctors can not find a reason for ... I refuse to take pain pills.
My finger nails are thin and break easily ... though they grow fast and I keep them fairly long ... they do not break because I hit them on something they kind of split at the edges.
My ankles swell with the long hours I spend sitting on the computer.
My energy level is not what it use to be.

I would like to know that the tons of vitamins I take a day were actually being digested and utilized by my body ... today I am not at all sure that is what is happening. I do not mind spending $200 a month on vitamins if my body is capable of assimilating them.

For fun I love my computers ... I started with a new computer in 1995 simply to use an astrology program ... before I knew it I was tossed into the middle of having to learn much more about the computer world. That has evolved into web and graphic design ... I am a hardware, software, script and program nut ... if its new and useful I probably want and get it.

I guess that pretty much sums it up for the moment. ;)

Welcome to HPS, Linda.
I see you share the feelings of most all of us here about the medical profession and their drugs. You should, indeed, be able to get off that blood pressure medication. No, you don’t need to take it the rest of your life.

Actually, I think one of the main reasons doctors take the path they do is that they assume people wont want to do what we do here, or even follow a strict diet to effect a remedy, so they just prescribe drugs.

The excercise in Dan’s book is a great way to start for people our age...you will see.

Again, welcome! :)

Greetings Linda,

At somewhere else in this forum, you wrote: "Escape the system that promotes and keeps us sick... "

I second that and I want you to know that if you follow the program to the dot you will be like the rest of us ESCAPEES, and it will last for a lifetime.

One of the reasons doctors do what they do is because they haven't been taught differently. Most of them are basically chemist... see what the symptoms are, prescribed a medication or two, next please, another 100 dollars in the pocket, next please. How could they act differently? They weren't taught any other way.

Here at HPS cleansing you are going to be TAUGHT and shown a different way. Tried, tested and proven. Just follow the program step by step, progress levels and a year from today you are going to look back in bewilderment. I know it might sound hard to believe, so don't believe, don't have any faith, just follow the program and practice as per the program outline and see for yourself.

Oh and btw, I too haven't exercised in over 15 years (i.e, a gym, weights, jogging, sports of any kind) and my health is exhuberant... so i say based on personal experience, the whole exercise hype is just that hype, a myth,,, to get us to spend money (it's a part of the consumer society/culture) and to let the doctors off the hook... since they (doctors aren't doing anything for our health, the first thing they say is that in their system of allopathic medicine, exercise is important... ie, they have thrown the onus onto someone else because all they are doing is prescribing pills, ie., a chemist)

Wishing you all the best, here with you for you.

Peace

Hi Linda - Nice to meet you. You sound way ahead of the game for many people your (our) age in terms of being able to incorporate this program fairly easily into your daily living. You won't have the computer hurdles, the weaning from the allopathic mentality hurdles, getting off pain and other meds hurdles. Good for you!

Welcome to HPS. You will be amazed at all you learn and the direction your health goes.

Cheers,
Anna P

Thank you group for the welcome!

Anna_P ... I am not sure how ahead of the game I am other than having a computer be familiar :D

Discipline is my problem and staying on track is definitely more of a struggle and I can already tell this is going to take some discipline ... must be training I need cause I am here.

Jos-hua Medicine man ... You just made my day. I am now packing my barbells back in mothballs ... thanks! ... I HATE EXERCISE! :)

I had never thought of doctors foisting their responsibility off on to the exercise industry ... how true. Gosh darn I sure bought into it ... twice last month.

Oh I think along with that "escaping the medical industry" went a "multi-billion dollar" ... lol

Imagine all of the professionals that would be out of jobs if people were well and lived to be 200 or better (healthy) like intended. I have always thought if the medical professionals were paid ONLY for well patients we would see a whole different system.

Janaka_P ... thank you for the welcome and I am going to hold you to the off blood pressure meds ... my intuition tells me you are right.

Again thanks all!

Hi Linda,

I add my welcome here. You have indeed chosen well for an exciting venture. It is great that you are already aquainted with so much in terms of healthful living. It will be interesting to here about the sciatic pain. That is felt mainly in the back if my sketchy knowlege is correct? One of the funny things from doing hps is how you find out how something like this could be caused from something you would never suspect. Cleansing is the place to start, and it will be great to hear how it comes together for you.

Regards,
Marty

Welcome Linda! It is never too late to do the right thing! I'd like to persuade my parents to do what you do, but I'm not sure about the results of doing that!

Looking forward to see you getting better...

Hello All,

I am anxious to start but have had difficulty in ordering my kit.

Has anyone else had the same problem?

I sent a mail last Friday with no response.
I resent a mail Monday with a response of call an 800 number if there is no answer leave a telephone number and I will return your call.
I did and there was a recording so I left a message with my number ... no call back. I called again today and finally got him ... so now I have product on the way ... I hope :)

I do not want to post my dates until I am sure this stuff is really on the way ... my board was suppose to arrive Friday or yesterday and that too is a no show.

Apparently the universe thinks I need a delay in starting this process ... so I guess I will just kick back and let it happen ... whenever. :D

Linda,

Welcome to HPS. You will be off the blood pressure meds soon. I look forward to hearing about it. Your MD should be in for quite an education to -- that is if you keep going.

It's interesting that you found this when you retired. I found it three years ago when I changed to a job that gave me a chance to breathe.

Don't worry too much about your start date. Just getting on the preclease is excellent for your health.

You are in for an interesting journey.

Linda, I learned the hard way that you need to order way in advance to play it safe. One time he had no record of my order when I checked on it!

Hi Linda,

I have a tendency to sit at the computer too long, too. The internet has been of inestimable importance in its short lifespan, but there can always be too much of a good thing and I'll spend time reading and researching long past the point when my brain can even take in the information I'm reading.

I don't like certain kinds of exercise, but getting time outdoors walking is never wasted in my view...maybe it depends on what you call exercise in the first place. Sitting at a desk for too many hours probably isn't enough activity, but anyway you'll probably find as your health improves that it's harder to sit still for such extended periods of time.

Welcome to the group.

Rick

Yes, Linda. Order well in advance. Last time I ordered lots of stuff and 10 days later he hadn't sent it yet - I had to postpone start dates!

Welcome Linda,

I think you will address your issues here like the rest of us. It is such a wonderful journey.

My hat is off to you that you have found this after you retired. What a gift!

Peace

Hey Louise, Janaka, Richard, Anna and Robin,

Thank you for the encouragement ... Its hard not to be excited and want to start tomorrow since everyone here seems to like the results so much.

But the reality is I am stuck until supplies arrive and I do not want to be put in a position of saying I will start one date and having Josh-hua's schedule messed up because someone dropped a ball somewhere else.

I did get notice from the Colema girl that the board arrives today by FedEX ... I ordered that way before I signed up and that was like 3 weeks ago maybe ... so maybe things are starting to happen.

Oh well ... I have been taught "don't fight what "is" ... because what "is" ... is suppose to be" ... the real problem is when "what is" does not match what you want or think should be ... lol

Now that's a real discipline for one to learn ... probably not unlike what you are all in the process of doing right here ;)

Linda,

Just want to add my welcome aboard to all the rest. I am certain that you will find the info and program here solid stuff for the health progress that you are pursuing and obviously have been pursuing for a long time. I am in the midst of my level 3 pre-cleanse and believe me, this program is truly built "line upon line, precept upon precept". There is a reason and purpose behind all that Jos-hua has put together and the order he has designated.

Since you share the common life practice experiential approach to health that he has been on, I'm sure you will recognize this fact as you get into the levels. As he always says, follow the program to the "t" - or as closely as your circumstances will permit, and you will see results - many of which you can't fully grasp at this point in your "journey".

By the way, I really got a good "belly laugh" about your approach to "diet digression": I do love chocolate however and periodically will sit down to several pieces of homemade fudge ... I figure blow it all at once ... eat enough to get over it then move on ... that usually works without upsetting things much. My wife will definitely appreciate knowing your approach as it will strike a chord with her food choices. :)

Glad you've joined the group and I'm looking forward to the knowledge and experience you will be able to share with the rest of us.

Ron

"I have learned that "what is" is a necessary part of
"what's next" ... so being aware is important. Sometimes we get so
stuck in what we think we want ... we fail to fully experience and enjoy
the what we have ... which is what we need. I call it the screwing up
today for what will probably never happen tomorrow or in the future ..."

Linda-
I copied this from your post at Louise's thread. It touched a nerve. It is primarily what I'm working on at this time. Just another boost for my path. Thanks. :) :D

Peace,
