Hello to you!
I am from the Seattle area (an unincorporated area between Lynnwood and Mukilteo for the few of you who live around here.) I am a Seattle Native though I've lived in other places during my life. (Canada, Algeria, France, Switzerland).
I have no living relatives, but have created my own family from the friends I've made. My partner Bill and I have 2 cats and a flock of 31 hens.
My interests, at this point in my life, center around enjoying the animals inside our house and out (we have visiting small wild birds, raccoons, squirrels, crows nests, hawks, eagles, possums, etc.); camping (we belong to 2 VW clubs and go camping in the vans); hanging out with friends; making stuff, forex trading; and being on a non-ending journey of spiritual learning and exploration.
I would have to say that my journey to HPS-Online started about 10 years ago when I lived through a life-altering emotional trauma. It completely tore me inside out, and I am sure I had a nervous breakdown ("meltdown" describes it better) and years of depression.
The end result of the trauma 5 years later was being close to 100 pounds heavier, and trying to get by with incredibly low energy. There are other little things that aren't perfect, but all-in-all I can't complain.
Through those five unhappy years, nothing recommended to me by doctors or psychotherapists helped me out. What DID turn me around was an amazing moment in time.
One evening at my then home (I lived alone throughout this period). I realized that if I continued on the same path much longer, it was going to kill me. In the clarity of this revelation I spontaneously said aloud with great sincerity "I want to live. I want to get better." The universe heard and responded!
From that moment on, I have been blessed to have been led to one good person/thing after another. I met Bill, and many other wonderful earthbound angels. I have tripped across discoveries that have freed me and educated me beyond my wildest expectations. On the mental, emotional and spiritual levels I am a new person.
That brings us to the present, where now my body is ready for it's new life too! It has been crying out to dump it's old stagnant energies and gunk, and that is how I ultimately found this program and now you too.
I know everything comes in it's perfect time, and my perfect time to begin my cleanse won't happen for a couple of months yet. My partner Bill and I are taking a trip to sacred sites in Egypt and the UK in November for 3-1/2 weeks. (Suggestions for the the UK portion by PM would be awesome!)
In the meantime, I hope to learn from all of you here on the forum. I also plan to read the recommended books to prepare for the cleanse. Lastly I am also starting to change my eating habits now so that I will be READY TO CLEANSE!!!
I will probably wait until after the holidays to start my precleanse... I imagine it would be crazy-making to try to do a formal cleanse during the holidays!!!!
Thanks for taking the time to read all of this. I look forward to hearing your comments, and will start venturing out to talk to you on your own threads soon!

Hi,
Welcome from another Northwesterner! You came to the right place, the Universe indeed has heard you had said.
I wish I once visit all the places you lived. Egypt is also high on my list.
I can't see why you can't do it during holidays, but your situation might be different (my family is very far away and I don't have many friends around here, so no one would interfere).
Welcome again!

Hi Courtney,
One of the smartest things one can do with cleansing and rejuvenation is to pace oneself... i.e., to do it right... when we do things right, we meet success... and here, with cleansing, that benefits of the success are for a lifetime of better health and more happiness.... so yes, I am glad you are going on vacation, have a great time, and when you come back we will commence your cleansing... then you will have the time, motivation and knowledge to proceed so that you meet success. :D
Welcome to our community... lots of really great people here who will be with you every step of the way in your cleansing and renewal.
Peace,
Courtney_L

Thanks Stephen for your warm welcome!
It is terrific that folks from the area are on this world-wide forum! I certainly am happy to have found this site, and am truly excited to experience what's ahead.
Re the trip... yes, I think it's going to be one of my best trips ever... a friend is leading the Egypt tour with all 5-star accomodations (this is a first for me!). Bill's place of work allowed him to take some extra time off, so we've been pondering our options and decided to do the UK road trip, which is going to be completely full of unexpected wonders for both of us!
As far as our animal friends, Bill has a co-worker who is one of those earthbound angels I was talking about. He loves taking care of our animals even though it is quite out of his way to do it. He's been doing it for 4 years for us, and the true sign that he's doing an awesome job is that the cats don't seem to notice we've been away! We also have a different friend who will be present in the house at night so it doesn't look like it's abandoned all that time!
Not knowing what to expect for my first cleanse, I am thrilled that you and Adrian see no reason not to pre-cleanse during the holidays!!! That is terrific news!
Thanks again for your welcome,

Hi Adrian!
It's so great that there are people doing this who live so close! I am very glad to be here, and look forward to getting to know everyone better. I can tell that this might be one of the most fortuitous changes in my life ever.
Re living in all those places... It's not like I'm really a big traveller. It's been work and circumstance that allowed me to do that. This upcoming trip is the first real "tourist trip" I've taken since I was in my mid-20's"!
I really appreciate your mentioning that Holiday cleansing wouldn't be too daunting. It is something I am very excited to begin. I think I'll wait until I know there's not going to be any distractions though... Holidays always seem full of unexpected events to me!
I will visit you on your thread soon, and find out more about your life. Take care and thanks for saying "hi"!

Hi Jos-hua!
Thanks for your welcome and support. I really appreciate your keeping me focused about what's ahead. You are so right. This is my life we're talking about and it is of utmost importance to me that I approach the cleanse from the right angle to ensure success.
One of the most important things about this program for me will be to train myself to "honor myself" in this process. The path is as important as the outcome, and worth enjoying in every moment.
Thank you so much Jos-hua for all your help so far. I know that I will learn so much from this experience, your insights, and the compassion of everyone on this board.
It is an honor to be here.

Hi Courtney,
Welcome!
You will love it here and we will all love you too ... its nice to see how we grow and try and help one another.
Another animal lover ... me too ... only I have a flock of cats ... the latest being my rescue babies (3 of them). When my day is stressed all I have to do is watch these munchkins tumble and play to make me smile and laugh.
A trip to Egypt ... lucky girl! I have always wanted to visit there ... the closes I got was the "Tut Treasures" when it toured the US about 25 years ago. My husband knew how much I liked that period of history so got tickets and we drove to SF for the show. Enjoy your trip.
Being thru the cleanse now a week ... let me add my 2 cents on your pre and formal during the holidays ... to distracting. You have a lot to learn and focus on. Even without family the season is filled with hustle and bustle ... I think you will find it a wonderful start to your new year ... a true new beginning. In fact your will have an extended pre pre-cleanse by the time you actually start you will be a pro. :D
Love and light dear and welcome again,
Linda_P

Hello, Courtney!
Your introduction exudes so much energy and enthusiasm for life! It's a pleasure to have you on the boards and thanks for visiting my L1 post.
Have a GREAT time on your vacation - I was married in Egypt in 1994, and loved so much about it. The people make it especially nice to visit. Hope to get back there with my new sweetie sometime. It will be very exciting to hear about your experiences when you return.
I really want to acknowledge you for listening to yourself and choosing a start time for your cleanse that will be graceful and supportive.

Courtney,
I did my first cleanse during Thanksgiving, and now I do one during every Christmas break. I don't enjoy the holidays, and it's a time when I am off work. It is good to cleanse when you are not working --- especially at the beginning. So do what works for you. If holidays is the only time you have off, that may be the best time.

Hello Courtney_L,
Taking care of the body is so importent for one's life energies. When the body is trapped in energy consuming processes of imbalances there is nothing left for the person. The difference between a burdened body and a clean one is so significant. I am sure you will experience change with this program, especially after your moment of transformation. Such moments set the stage for later scenes; yours!
A newcomer myself to HPS I can only follow you from my own perspective of similar moments in life. It seems to me that you are already a doer in life, with your surroundings and responsibilities on the other side of the globe from me in the area of Seattle. All that is needed for you, it seems, is to replace some new actions with older ones, and you will be successful.
I have been to Seattle once in 1981 by the way. The atmosphere was a fresh one, akin to the Scandinavian mood and landscape. Trust nature to help you.
Regards,
Jaigi_T.

Hi Dawn!
Thanks for writing on my thread and that's really cool that you know Egypt! I loved living in Algeria (I was married to a Berber and lived there 8 years). I am looking forward to the trip and hope to find the people as loving and generous there as my experience in Algeria.
Looking forward to catching up on your cleanse progress later today!

Hi Linda!
Thanks very much for your welcome! It's great that you love animals so much too. I had a good laugh over the "flock of cats!"
Also I thank you for your 2-cents about the timing of my cleanse. Since you've just gone though it for the first time I appreciate your thoughts on it. I think I lean towards waiting until things quiet down a bit too.
Re the "Tut Treasures," you gave me another laugh... I saw those too - but even longer ago that you! It was in the mid-60's when I went to see it with my mother (who died in 1968 - which is why I can pinpoint how long ago it was!)
So thank you so much for the nice chuckles Linda and looking forward to more in the future! -- Courtney_L

Hi Louise!
Thanks for your welcoming post. First I have to tell you how much the name Louise means to me. It is both a middle name of mine and also the first name of my dear grandmother.
I appreciate your words of wisdom about the timing. It's all about making the most of the time constraints of ones life, and giving yourself the most quality time to cleanse as possible (especially in the beginning!)
I look forward to reading your threads and learning from your experiences. I shall certainly look forward to giving you support through your upcoming Christmas cleanse too! -- Courtney_L

Hi Jaigi!
Thanks for posting on my Intro! I read your Intro and see there are similarities in our experiences... You are right about the energy imbalance. I am just now realizing how much of the trauma energy is still being held in my physical body. The cleaning of it will be a very interesting journey I'm sure!
In the interim before the cleanse, I am working to communicate better with my body. I'd like it to start "trusting" me before the cleanse, so we're really working together.
That is neat that you've been to Seattle. I hope one day to visit up your way... and if you ever come to Seattle again I'd love to have you stay/visit with us.
Thanks for your welcome and insights Jaigi. I look forward to going through the cleanses around the same time together. -- Courtney_L
