Hi everbody
I am an only child of Jean and Joseph who are both still alive and in good health, both aged 70.
I have been married, but divorced 12 years ago. I am still in contact with my ex wife and we still get on well.
I have no children.
I am now living with Susan, having done so for 5 years. We are both physically very active participating in the gym, yoga, running, cycling and rock climbing.
I have been very fortunate in my working life as a commercial accountant and business consultant to find myself in a position that I no longer need to work and havent done so for the last year. I havent got bored yet but am looking for something to do of a more charitable nature. Most of my working career was in the clothing retail sector.
I am active investor in the stock market and have been fortunate to avoid losses during the recent down turn in the markets.
My knowledge of how to live healthy, exceeds my practice of the principles, particularlly when it comes to diet. Im well informed on how best to eat but find it impossible to get even close to it. All the bad foods seem to taste so good.
I am hopeful that being part of this large community will help me improve my diet both before and after my cleanse.
My health appears to be fine but I have some signs which indicate some underlying problem which has brought me to this program. These signs are baggy under eyes, a coated tongue and ridges on my nails.
I have been a reader of self development books in recent years. Two of my favorites are "the road less travelled" and "dont sweat the small stuff".
I am currently participating in a program called "the Landmark Forum" which I would describe as an empowerment program.
I already have a good feeling for this program.
Thanks
Andy

Welcome Andy!
I think you'll find as you follow this program that your taste for various foods will change as you become less acid and more alkaline. My husband and I have changed in that way and ours was a much longer standing habit of poor eating than yours as we are both 60ish.
Blessings to you as you begin this important life changing program. We'll all be here with you and for you.
Again welcome,
Pat

Welcome Andrew:
I am sure you will just what you are looking for right here. Everyone is so helpful and supportative. If there is something you don't understand, just ask.
Eating healthy isn't necessarily so. It is important to be aware of food combining. I always thought I was eating healthy, but afer finding this site I found I was eating the right foods, just in the wrong way. There is soooo much to learn from this program and the other cleansers, I am just amazed. I cannot tell you how much they have helped me. I have truly come a long way from the day I first signed up.
Welcome again and happy cleansing.
Marilyn

Hi Andy,
Welcome to our group and the beginning of many wonderful changes you can experience. The program will have an impact on your actions on a daily basis. Not only about food, but also work, family, friends, charitable activities, etc. It retrains us in how we nourish not only our bodies, but our spirits and our minds.
Glad to have you with us and I look forward to following your progress.

Andrew,
Glad you have joined HPS. I reads that you are aware of your body and noticing that you need to do some work with yourself. Nice that you are turning to some help prior to having any major health difficulties. As another pretty active guy I can say that this forum and community will assist your efforts to realign your health and its habits. I have several friends connected to the Landmark program and they are happy they are associated to it. I look forward to supporting you as you start down the cleansing road.
Be Well,

Hi Andy,
Welcome to the group. My dh suffers from the bags under the eyes. This is a sign of trouble with the kidneys. You have come to the right place to make the changes necessary. You are already doing so much for your good health as far as being so active. You will learn more in this group from others who have traveled the same road and have found improved health.
I know what you mean about food tasting sooo good. This has been a real learning experience for me. I have had to re-think all that I thought I knew about what foods are good for me and in what combinations. I used to love to bake cookies and all kinds of desserts. Now I look at things differently. That has made it easier in wanting to change how my family eats to a healthier way. I have become educated and I am educating my family so that when my kids are in their 40's, hopefully they won't be experiencing the aches and pains that lead to worse things.
Again. welcome,
Love,
Tisha

Andy,
I can relate with you in that you have much knowledge about health, but it's a constant struggle to apply it. I just try try try again - everyday. Thanks for such an informative into. You sound ready and primed for the program. I'm finding that all my knowledge is confusing though. I'm trying to just trust Jos-hua at this point and do what he says to do.
Have a great cleanse,

Hello Andy,
Welcome to the community. You can count on this group to help you in any way that you want towards improving your health.
I am involved in an organization much like Landmark...Global Relationship Centers. If you are interested in another empowerment program, send me a private email and I can tell you more.
Good luck with your cleansing, and your long term behavior modifications.
Love and light,

Hi Andy!
I feel close to your statement about the theory and practice gap. It's the same over here. I read Dan Reid's book ten years ago and then...didn't do anything until I signed up here.
This program is different in the sense that it is action-oriented and takes care of educating yourself about the basics.
About investing, you have never invested in something that can give you such a return as this program, believe me...
After my Level 1 the results were there...and I am not a food fanatic nor a saint.
A good French Bordeaux and a Havana are still part of my lifestyle.
Of course I have the advantage of living in Japan where the traditional cuisine is just a another word for healthy food.
I wish you all the best!

Welcome Andy!
You will definitely learn a lot in this forum and receive invaluable support! Hopefully it will enable you to make the changes you seek in your diet and health. It is definitely a process and every step forward is a wondeful achievement. Wishing you the best, I too loved Peck's The road less traveled. I read it in college, but your mention of it makes me want to reread it.
Cheers, Tina_A
