Hello Everyone!

I started my pre-cleanse for Level 1 yesterday and I am so looking forward to the formal -- something just has to help me feel better!

I have been active and healthy my whole life but, suffered intermitently with constipation and digestion issues. Over the last few years the incidences have become more frequent and more painful.

I was diagnosed with endometriosis last Spring and had a laproscopic surgery to detach my bowel from my pelvis - the endometriosis had adhered them together, causing a great deal of pain. The surgeon found that the endometriosis had invaded my colon but was unable to deal with it at that time. I have opted out of additional surgery, for the time being, and have chosen to change my eating habits and pursue alternative methods of overcoming the pain.

I have been married 18 years. I teach middle and high school students at an Alternative school. My husband and I own and operate a cattle ranch in the high desert of southeastern Oregon. I have a 9yr old daughter (she turns 10 on Monday) that we adopted - <we have been unable to have children of our own - no medical reason ever diagnosed>. We lead a very full life and I enjoy most aspects of it but, over the last few years my energy level and enthusiam has been depleted and I am ready to make the changes necessary to restore my health -- maybe I'll find I was never really all that healthy to begin with?!

We're leaving town today to celebrate my daughter's birthday with family but, I wanted to make this introduction and begin the process of getting to know the people that will help me through this cleanse (and future cleanses).

Have a great day!

Welcome Kelly!

I too suffered from constipation for years. It is a thing of the past since completing Level 1. You will be amazed at the wonderful changes cleansing will bring to your life. Enjoy the birthday celebration!

Welcome Kelly,

You life sounds like a busy one. I used to teach in alternatinve education (teenagers with mental illness). I know it can be not only very demanding but also emotionally draining. I wish I had discovered a program like this when I was your age. It could have made an even greater difference in my life.

I'm glad you've joined us and I know that you'll find that you constipation and other issues will improve as you remove some of the toxicity from your body so that it can heal and repair itself.

Enjoy your daughter's big day with family! Sounds like fun.

Love and Light,
Pat

Hi Kelly,

I also had constipation which disappeared during my precleanse

I, too teach troubled adolescents in a treatment center. It can be both challenging and rewarding at the same time.

Welcome to the group. I look forward to reading about your progress.

Love & Light

Welcome Kelly,

I think you will find that this is just the ticket for getting control of your digestion and constipation problems. I am a firm believer that cleansing and then rebuilding your body with healthy foods, herbs and exercise can repair damage that has been done to our bodies.

I think cleansing is not talked about very much as an option to surgery or medicines.

I'm glad that you found this site.
Love,
Tisha

Thanks Everyone!

Your welcoming posts and encouragement are really wonderful!

The birthday celebration went very well - the 8hrs of travel leave alot to be desired but............it was worth it.

Found a roadside fruit stand on our trip that had fresh Florida (organic) fruit and vegetables -- which made eating correctly for the pre-cleanse really delightful!

Experiencing alot of emotional turmoil -- was glad to see in some of my reading that it is to be expected.

I put alot more emotional energy than I realize into my work - the kids I teach have horrible home lives and alot of needs. My personal life seems draining as well. My daughter is adopted and we maintain a relationship with her biological family - birthdays and holidays create alot of issues for me.

Still haven't received the book (can't think of the title at the moment) that gives pre-cleanse guidance, so I am continuing to refer to the alkaline vs. acid food list for choices. Any advice would be appreciated.

Is there any advantage to prolonging the pre-cleanse period? I have had it set in my mind to do the formal cleanse during my spring break from school -- which is March 24-31. If there are advantages to a longer pre-cleanse, I could find another time. I believe my system to be extremely toxic -- the constipation I experience allows only minimal elimination; I have regular headaches, muscle aches, joint pain and struggle with depression.

Dear Kelly,

You have come to a good place. Your complaints have been expressed by many people here. Some people find some relief in symptoms simply through the pre-cleanse.

Jos-hua generally does not recommend longer than a 7 - 10 day pre-cleanse. As you move into different levels there is time for longer pre-cleansing. Save it until then, I think. You will have lots to do and pay attention to on this level without making it "more". Enough is really good enough here.

Wishing you much success.

Thanks Susan_L

I appreciate your response to my question of extending the pre-cleanse. It was my thinking that, like in many things, the more time spent in preparation - the better the outcome. I will plan to stick to my original schedule. Honestly, I can't hardly wait to get started!

Thanks again.
