Before my Level 1, I had just left a job with a long commute and high stress. I had gained 15 pounds during that two years without exercise. I was borderline for high blood pressure, had edema, and felt really bad.

I saw dramatic improvement during my pre-cleanse, and the progress continued through the formal cleanse and the post-cleanse. The progress included an 18 lb. weight loss, less fluid retention, lower blood pressure, slightly better vision, and much better eating habits. I reestablished an exercise routine, and I have learned a lot and feel that I am taking responsibility for my own health.

I have done well with the new eating habits, but things have slipped more and more lately (things like beer, bread, and bad combining). There are lots of signs that it’s time for another cleanse – like needing deodorant again. I am ready for Level 2 but have to wait a little longer so I will have a full week off. I worked a few days during my Level 1 last Thanksgiving, and I vowed never again.

I still have high cholesterol even though I seldom eat meat, so I am planning to cut way back on fish and take advantage of this opportunity to eat vegan indefinitely.

Of course I am hoping to eliminate a lot of crud, but I am also hoping for more that just a physical cleanse this time. I want to work on eliminating negativity.

I am happy for you ... it sounds as if you know what you want and are going for it.

Keep watching yourself. Awareness and intention will see you through.

Love and light,

Hi Louise. It's great to read about all the gains you made with the last cleanse. As to making occasional slips, nobody's perfect, and who wants to be anyway? You can't have your cake and eat it too, sure, but a cake is pretty useless if you don't eat some every now and then. We're all working on improving the big picture, and it sounds as though you're doing great in that respect. I hear you about work; I have to work through my fast, but I don't worry about it b/c my house is right next door to work so I can walk there in about 20 seconds, and it's not very stressful or physical. Also I have a lot of personal time throughout the day. Best of luck to you!

"nobody is perfect, and anyway, who wants to be?"

out of that drive for perfection comes a lot of suffering, both for the object and the subject.

peace.

Hi Louise,

...without abandoning the project but just to prepare for the next big improvement in your health.

Being compassionate and forgiving to ourselves helps as much as focussing on the progress made instead of looking ahead at some defined far off goal of success.

Welcome back to the group!

I wish you an interesting journey to better health with enough determination to allow for the occasional relapse to happen.

All the best,
