  • Thijs_VG, Age 34, HPS DBC. 7DW Level 1. Introduction- Graphic Designer.

    Hello all,

My name is Thijs (say "tais" and you're pretty close) and I live in the Netherlands. I joined HPS because last year I crashed my car. Fortunately I myself didn't have any crashed parts, I did however find out how bad a shape I was in having to do things without a car (yes it sounds rather pathetic), even though I was doing some fitness at the time. Basically my job for the past 15 years has been sitting at the computer, and then again in the evenings at home as a hobby. I realized I felt way too old and tired for my liking.

In short I suddenly decided to start getting interested in my physical health (I just never cared before), reading up on anything that seemed interesting, experimenting with sports, supplements, eating different, straightening out my mind etc.etc. and decided by the time I hit 40 I have to feel better than when I was 20 in every possible way (I just hit 34 before joining up here).

They say about every cell in the human body is replaced in 7 years, so the general goal is to have myself a brand-new, shiningly clean, a-grade materials super body for my 40th birthday That sounds like a lot to ask of myself, but someone once said to me to set my goals high, because if I didn't then I would lose sight of them and get distracted halfway...

So how did I end up here at HPS? Sure the things I tried for myself worked, but to a very limited degree. No enough by far to take care of my (main) growing problem of seriously lacking in energy, trouble getting out of bed, easily tired, some days are just a daze, not able to muster much enthousiasm for anything, to the point that I started to feel kind of handicapped with a battery that refused to charge past 20% anymore ....which was taking it's toll on work, social, relationship, personal interests... very very annoying.

Then I started finding out about accumulated waste throughout the body, and immediately knew I was a prime candidate for being full of crap (methaphorically speaking ofcourse, no pun intended ), because I never made any serious effort to live a healthy life, I never exercised, I ate tons of fastfood, I smoked a lot, alcohol too, had a really bad sleep-pattern etc. etc. but I could stand all this a little too well for my own good I guess.

I never got fat, could do all the things I wanted well enough, I felt pretty healthy. So I never thought twice about it and it took years to realize that in the end the energy levels steadily kept going down. For years I even thought I must be just somewhat of a lazy guy, and then when I decided to not be lazy and get going with some new plans, I noticed it really didn't go too well, even simple things, because there just wasn't any energy to make things happen. Feeling lazy was probably just a mental safety mechanism to prevent me from actually trying to do too much, which would further exhaust me and damage my body. Oh, the beauty of nature's ways haha. Well, it worked in a way, I'm happy I never got really sick or injured by forcing myself to do things my body could not have handled.

Anyway, this point really began to sink in when I started doing more exercise about 2 years ago in an attempt to get fitter. Overall it left me more tired than invigorated, however fun and temporarily uplifting sports can be sometimes. Later I realized that this was because of obstructions all throughout my system, and then sports is just like running a dirty machine faster, which… makes it go faster, with the net result of more friction, wear & tear. But at that time I had no other options on the radar.

So I found some info online about colon cleansing and fasting, got really interested as I thought this would address the true root cause of my issues, and drilled down awesomely quickly to HPS-Online as the best available option (one advantage of working with the internet daily is that you get an instinct for what's rubbish and what's good info). I got a great book tip from Jos-hua, spent some time reading that and after that a stack of related stuff - and then through some "special circumstances" was able to finally join here!

Jos-hua, thanks for having me! And all of you by extension It feels like an honour to enroll here after half a year of searching for a place to seriously work on my health, not just "fixing problems" but getting a grip and really learning something from people who know what they are about! I think that is one of the major draws for me, I like to know exactly how things work, especially when it's about my own body, and I had the feeling that here at HPS, there would be real answers.

Now let me tell you something about myself I'm a commercial designer, live with my girlfriend and 4 cats. Last couple of years I've mostly been doing programming and internet design (traditionally the company I work for makes books and all kinds of printed design). Mostly sites that need to look nice with a pleasing interface and pretty pictures, no webshops or the like.

For the rest I enjoy good food, I like stories, movies, most kinds of music, do some theatrical things, and having some meaningful conversation. I can also enjoy completely pointless conversation, so be warned I don't have a tv or facebook (when clients ask me why I am not on facebook or twitter while I'm an internet specialist, I always ask them if they would prefer me twittering or working on their project instead), I like my activities to have some added, lasting value and I just want to enjoy my life and doing what I want to do for others, and I hope I can get my health straigtened out so I can go at all the other things full steam.

P.S. I still have no new car, when I go to work now, I enjoy walking, cycling and reading on the train.

    Greetings Thijis,

I'm revisiting this intro thread of yours five months later, to post here today in June 2011 a link to your testimonial written after doing the program. The above intro you wrote before starting the program. Here is the link for those on the sideline wanting to know what happened with you, to you and your health, after you wrote your 7DW intro, into your 7DW precleansing, 7DW formal cleansing and the 7DW postcleansing periods.

The below I had written to you in Feb. 2011... and it is still unedited.

You must have been reading my mind because all day today, I kept thinking, I wonder how to pronounce his name... well, you started your intro with that answer! Thanks.

Another thing I enjoyed reading in your intro was your lifestyle up until today...

It reminded me very much of mine prior to starting out on this path, and your age is about the same age that I started, just a bit older than I was.

So there again, it all makes sense to me how you intend to approach this, especially the part of where you'll be by the age of 40, because I too when I started out, thought along the same line... I wasn't so interested in what was happening immediately (even though it was all great and very self motivating to forge on) but I very much was motivated to see what happened by the seventh year when ever cell in the body supposedly is new. All of them cleansed and all the new ones coming into a cleansed and rejuvenated body! The trillions of them! WOW I thought, that must be something out of this world.

And let me tell you, it's such a delight. Cannot be described in words... most people take for normal the little health issues they have, but in fact, they aren't normal. When you reach a state of no health issues, let me tell you, it's really sacred, it's really inspiring to see what a human life can be about.

Last but not least, I too am not on facebook nor do I have a twitter account.

I welcome you to HPS guided cleansing... since you're online a lot, that probably means you'll be very active here at our community, and those who are active, and sustain that activeness, profit the most. Watch and see!

Lots of very nice cool people here... serious cleansers we've all become. Jump into their threads and they will reciprocate. Watch and see.

    Here for you, with you.

Your 7 Day Wonder Freedom cleansing friend,

    Jos-hua

    P.S. I too don't have a car either. hahahahaha.

      HI Thijs

Welcome to this awesome program. I have no doubt you will enjoy HPS as much as I did of not more. It`s a great thing that you have long term purpose in joining up, but you will start benefiting from the program sooner than you think.

I am also quiet new to HPS and consider that it is one of the best decisions I have made in a long time. My advice to you is to do your best to follow the program as closely as it is outlined by Josh-ua. So get ready for a truely great and fulfilling journey.

      Peace

      R.

        Hi Thijs,

Welcome to the HPS-Online 7DW freedom cleansing path!

You will most certainly find the answers aswell as solutions to the roots of any problems you have had.

The sincerity and intent of our practitioners community here is what makes this place so special. Not only will you get to where you want, but you will be supported all the way by like-minded folk who want the same things in life. Meaningful and health-full existance

As you noted, indeed it is meant to take 7 years to replace every cell in the body and I think it is great to aim high.. Your 40th willl most certainly be a special year.. and every year leading up to it..

I too was very happy and privileged to have found and joined the community here. There indeed is so much misinformation and "quick fix" plans out there and it's easy to get swept away by it all. Here you'll get the relevant facts minus the bs

Joining was the best decision I've ever made for my body, mind, and spirit..

Wishing you all the best my friend,

        Kevin

Thanks for the welcomes and all the best wishes! Much appreciated!

Thanks for supporting my end-goal, I thought it would be nice to have it in my first-ever post here so I can look back at it sometime (which reminds me I need to take photos of my face one of these days). I like to start out with the big picture, but mostly in execution of ideas I'm a slowly-but-surely type of person, paying attention to detail along every step of the way determines the quality of the end-product, in this case myself

So, I just finished reading the manual *whew* (I must say the past week I've had a bad cold so my reading speed is like one quarter of normal), and it's all solid and good info as far as I can tell, very helpful.

Now I'll start on reading "the book" that is recommended for lvl 1. I already did a while ago, but I see that I am allowed to skip the introduction chapter this time hahaha .

            Hi Thijs,

Welcome to the HPS forum. I've been working with Jos-hua for about 10 years now and this a a great journey you are embarking upon. After doing about about 18 7DW cleanses over the past 10 years, my body has thanked me. I too like yourself was not in that great of health when I ran into HPS. Since then, my colema board is one of my greatest assetts.

As a new fellow 7DW cleanser, please note that there will be a slight learning curve and some eating habits will be changed. I still don't eat perfectly, but I'm now more aware of my body's needs. Best advice I could give you is carefully follow the program and you will be fine. There will be times when you feel horrible, but soon after you will feel great as the body is detoxifying.

Good luck on your cleansing journey. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask any of us experienced 7DW cleansers.

            Wishing your the best,

            Layne

              Hi Thijs!

              It's great to meet you!

A hearty welcome to the HPS forum and life-long health (if you so choose) (which it sounds like you will)!

Thanks for your introduction, it was quite informative, interesting to read and with a healthy amount of humour!

I'm glad you were able to find HPS ... it gives me hope that people can still find a good thing if they look hard enough. And yes, you found a very good place to seriously learn about your health, there are LOTS of good answers here even though they're slightly different for every different body.

And from your conversation here at your intro, it sounds like you're the kind of person who WILL get your health straightened out.

Thank you! Great to see some stalwart fasting soldiers barging in on my humble thread. When I have questions, I'll check out the forums a bit more first, and then maybe post in the FAQ I think.

Funny that everybody mentions the learning curve and things that need to change, well, I *want* to change and I like a challenge, and moreover, I'm quite motivated so that should make this whole experience a blast. So there's no point in trying to stop me however hard you all try. Oh wait, you're actually being very encouraging and supportive.... Thanks all.

                  Hi Thijs, welcome aboard.

As you can see already there is a ton of support here. There are so many reasons why HPS has helped me feel thousands of time better than when I started in '05, but one big one I can tell you for sure is the support.

It comes down so often that are health issues are just a matter of negligence, unwillingness to take personal responsibility or just not getting down to what needs to be done. HPS offers the know-how, plus the space and place to get the know-how brought into one's life where it will really count.

So, enjoy Thijs. It's been nearly 6 years here for me, and 6 years here for you will bring you nearly to 40. Follow the program as it's been laid out and in 6 years or probably less you'll achieve what you want and a heck of a lot more.

                  Sincerely,
                  Alan

Hi Alan, you say it straight to the point! I have a lot of work to do on myself! But I think "feeling thousands of times better" as you put it, will be worth it. Besides, many hands and nice colleagues make light work, and so far everybody here has been very nice and informative!

Hi Thijs, great to see you've found us! You must be one of a very few people who've taken a disaster like a car crash and turned it into what very easily may be a turning point for the drastically better in your life. Stick with this program and you'll find for yourself how far you can go.

And we'll be here to help you along the way.

                        Howdy Thijs -

Congrats to listening to your bodies language. That awareness can only grow from now on while learning from hps members and your own bodies continuing story as you practice day in and day out.

I enjoyed reading your positive and honest reflection of events in your life that eventually nudged you in this direction. To realize that you have the will to change your life and not expecting others or other things to do it for you is of vital importance to all, but seemingly few come to such insight. Very good causes and effects are afoot for you as you already act skillfully to reclaim your wealth - bodily health, mental clarity and spiritual blossoming.

Welcome and take care of your self.

                          Thijs,

Well, you posted your intro here just two weeks ago, and a lot has transpired since then...

You've got your 7DW pre-cleansing thread open and active and you've had a chance to meet a few of our online 7DW Freedom cleansers.

You posted the following on Kevin's 7dw level 1 post-cleansing thread yesterday and I thought to copy it here to your introduction as the general public doesn't have access to anyones 7dw postcleansing threads, or pre or formal cleansing threads, they are private threads to people doing this interactive cleansing and renewal program.

I think it shows how, in just two weeks time, your appreciation and realization of what is going on here is applicable to everyone, if they would just jump in, and by copying it to here, I hope they find the courage and inspiration to trust that this program is the real deal and very much worth it, worth the time you invest in it, worth the money you invested in it and worth the effort you are investing in yourself by doing it.

In a way that distinctly applies to the group here, everyone here is so... just being busy and focussed on doing the sensible thing, in the middle of all the white noise in the media and commerce about health, in the middle of a world full of people that all have their ears plugged with their own silly little ego-driven opinions, and in the established medical care, but also in the alternative health care, important to note that one. I never met an alternative practitioner (I've had a few) that I think even realized that something like what I'm now learning here could be done.

Anyway, Kevin, I haven't even started the "official" 7dw precleansing, but reading your many detailed experiences is helping to build a sort of "mode" in daily perception of all the little things I should be on the lookout for. When I do get started, having just read this will help me see sharper. I already notice I'm "getting into it" and you're really helping me build a feeling that this is pretty doable and for the most part even fun. Oh, all that, and to know that maybe I'll get a new car, hahaha
Peace Thijs, looking forward to you formal 7DW cleansing and to your 7DW postcleansing.

Thanks for trusting us and thanks for being present here, you're already making a big contribution to our community!
