Since 1985 I have had two jaw surgeries, a styloidectomy, and an anterior disectomy and fusion of a herniated disc in my neck. The disc fusion took place in 1998 and while all the numbness and tingling went away and the pain was reduced, I had limited range of motion and extreme stiffness in my neck. It took several years to recover. To add to the problem, my work was becoming more stressful and it soon became normal to work 60+ hours a week. Then my weight started going up, my blood pressure and cholesterol levels rocketed up. I was taking medication for arthritis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sinus problems and anti-depressants to help me sleep.
